It happened on Thursday Sept 11th, 2008
The day began with registration at 27th Street and the Boards starting at 10am.
After registering you were asked to stage your bike and hang out on the walk until others can get signed
in and staged for the parade of bike which started at 11:30am. This gave you time to grab a bite to eat, coffee or just
hang out and enjoy the ocean and boardwalk view while meeting up with old friends and maybe making some new ones.
The parade headed south on the boardwalk with an OC Police escort at 11:30am.
200 or so motorcycles were involved in the parade.
We rode until we reached the Ocean City Arch at North Division Street.
Once there we dismounted and grouped together at the Ocean City Fallen Firefighter Memorial on the
Boardwalk for a short memorial service at 12 noon for those lost on 9-11 and we reminded ourselves of the tragities of
that day.
At 12:15 pm, it was back on the bikes for an escorted exit from Ocean City by the Ocean City Police
Department who took us out of town on over the Harry W. Kelly Memorial Bridge (Route 50) where we were picked up
by the Worcester County Sheriffs Department and Escorted to Maryland Route 113 North.
On Bishopville Road in front of the Bishopville VFD, the Towers from the Ocean CityFire Department and
the Selbyville VFC were crossed above the roadway and drapped an American Flag in support of our ride. Thanks to both of those
departments for the added touch!
Our destination......Smitty McGee's Raw Bar and Restuarant in West Fenwick Ireland Delaware.
Once there we shared Brotherhood, food, drink and fun!
DJ BATMAN will be provided the music !
Firefighter & Model Kelly Johnston as seen in Playboy Magazine was unable to make
it due to the fact that her stations rescue team was sent to Texas following the hurricane.
*She will be back next year!
This was a great time......You don't want to miss it next year!
