ITS HAPPENING AGAIN!
MD3 received a request/invitation to participate again!
this year the party was on
Saturday the 20th of September 2008 from 10am until 2pm
at Winterplace Park in Salisbury Maryland.
Call Jill Fears at 443-783-6198 for more information!

Below is some information about a very special party for a very special young boy that took place Saturday Oct. 28th 2006 at
Winterplace Park in Salisbury.

After the weather broke and it was really nice, a little breezy, but nice. There were hundreds of people who turned out and lots of fun was had by everyone.

Maryland 3 was contacted by Jill Fears, a local woman who told of a party that she

was putting on for her young son.

Her son, Daniel Fears, is a little boy who has spent most of his young life in

and out of Johns Hopkins and

the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore.

Daniel was diagnosed in utero with brain damage and a heart defect.

Daniel currently suffers from cerebral palsy,

epilepsy and cortical visual impairment.

He breathes through a trach tube and is tube fed a special

diet that is needed to control his seizures.

Daniels mother Jill contacted Maryland 3 and asked if

they could help with the party.

Her plan was to have friends, family and the congregation from the

family’s church come to the party and instead of bringing gifts they

would make a monetary donation that would then be forwarded to

the “Children’s House” at Johns Hopkins in Daniels name.

Mrs. Fears told of the special care that her son Daniel

had received there and that they not only cared for Daniel, but helped greatly

in caring for the needs of a family that was going through such troubled times.

Just two blocks from Johns Hopkins, the Children’s House allows

family to be close to their loved ones and to stay without having to travel

back and forth so frequently.

“It is a place where they have some of the comforts

of home, without being home”.

Maryland 3 agreeded to help and to provide Hamburgers, Hot Dogs,

a grill, and lots of other stuff

to make the party an even bigger and more special event.

Maryland 3 went right to work calling on friends and

other organizations that he thought might be able to help.

There was a fire truck on hand along with

a bouncy house for the kids.

Food and drinks that had been donated

along with cake and ice cream of course.

The Wheels That Heal, The OC Cruzers Car Clubs and the Lower Delaware Mustang Club

also signed on to help as did some

members of a local native indian tribe, who put on a dance show in all of

thier traditional dress.

Maryland 3 invited the community as a whole to come out

and support this event

and to help make Daniels special day a little brighter.

All money raised that day will be donated to the

 “Children’s House” in Daniels name.

It is just a small way of saying thanks from a family

that has been through so much

and wants to do whatever they can to express their

appreciation for all the care and love they have received.

Maryland 3 is proud to be a part of this event and we would like to thank all of those who contributed to the great success. What a wonderful day!

This year, all we were asked to do was to show up and be a part of the wonderful day

Those of us who did were very happy to see that the day was just as productive as last year. Jill had worked so hard for everthing and it reall paid off for her. The Eastern Shore  area is so good about coming out to support a great cause.

Maryland sends thanks to Jill for inviting us to continue to be a part of this event.
